The world’s leading operational risk association in the financial sector, ORX, is pleased to announce that Mark Cooke has been named the association’s new Chair.
Mark, who is Group Head of Operational Risk at HSBC, takes over from Gary Dingley, who was Chief Operational Risk Officer at Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Gary had been Chair of the association for just over two and a half years.
The appointment of Mark as Chair of the Managing Board at ORX reflects the faith placed in the association by some the world’s largest financial institutions.
At the same time, Hamish Lock of RBC has agreed to become the new ORX Treasurer taking over from Mark Cooke. Hamish is currently Vice President of Operational Risk at RBC Financial Group.
Giulio Mignola will remain as vice Chair.
Simon Wills, Executive Director at ORX, said: “We are really pleased that Mark Cooke has agreed to become our new Chair. He has played a crucial role on the Board in the recent development of ORX and we are pleased he will continue to help shape the association."
”Our many thanks go to Gary for all the hard work, dedication and insight he has given to the role of Chair over the last few years. In the time that he was in the role, ORX has significantly grown in membership, with an increase in news subscribers, scenario subscribers and full Members. We have also launched an insurance service, and been an integral part of the industries response to the regulatory changes,” Simon added.
