Job Type: Part time, 9-month maternity cover (22.5 – 30 per week considered)

Reports to: People & Operations Director
Responsible for: Senior People Administrator and People Administrator
Location: Bath, UK (Flexible Working)

About the role

The role holder will hold overall accountability for all People matters, developing close relationships across the organisation to provide pro-active and early engagement and support, as well as supporting the People & Operations Director with important change related activity.

The role holder will lead and help develop the Senior People Administrator and People Administrator.  They will proactively identify process efficiencies and automation opportunities to enhance the employee experience.

Key duties and responsibilities of the People Manager include:

  • Own, develop and monitor the delivery of the ORX People Strategy.
  • Oversee the core HR processes: recruitment, induction process, training & development, employee relations, performance management, sickness management, employee recognition, employee record management and leaver processes.
  • Ensure HR policies, processes and procedures are effective, proportionate and in line with employment law.
  • Employee engagement lead including surveying and engagement measures.
  • Advising on recruitment and selection, including headhunting and building relationships with a wide range of agencies and consultants.
  • Business partner with Executive and Senior Leadership Team to drive early engagement and pro-active support.
  • Coach, train and challenge managers on their approach to people issues, advising them on best practice approaches.
  • Run important change related activity, in line with the strategy and with support of the People & Operations Director.
  • Management of the recruitment and training budget.
  • Prepare and present regular updates to the People & Operations Director.
  • Assisting with HR project planning and management.
  • Support and lead with employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Line management to the Senior People Administrator and People Administrator.
