There will be instances where employees will be required to be in the Bath office such as, 1-2-1 meetings, appraisals, project meetings, all staff team meetings, team meetings, training, induction meetings, collaboration, innovation and problem solving.

About the role

The Head of Risk Management Programme will support the Research and Information Director in the delivery of the ORX Risk Management programme. This programme provides i) operational risk management practice (including operational resilience) and ii) operational risk landscape services and products to the financial services industry.

The role is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with some of the foremost operational risk figures in the global financial services industry. The individual will lead important elements of the ORX programme, creating consensus and facilitating change at an industry level. They will also provide SME input across the ORX offer, including from time-to-time leading other aspects of the programme (such as developing industry standards).

The Head of Risk Management Programme plays a key role in the delivery of the ORX product and services strategy. This includes contributing to the development of value-add actionable products and services, working to integrate these across ORX services as appropriate and innovating how they are delivered to members.

The Head of Risk Management Programme is an effective manager, a robust facilitator, an excellent communicator and a confident thought-leader. They will be operating closely with the senior executives and thought leaders in the industry so must be credible and authoritative in their subject matter.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Risk Management Programme Management
    • Lead ORX Risk Management products and services, including overseeing execution of projects and other activities.
    • Develop the risk management product strategy, seeking member feedback and exploring innovative ways to develop and deliver products.
    • Oversee the development of Risk Management and Resilience member communities, including working groups and associated activities.
    • Oversee the delivery and development of ORX Risk Landscape products (supporting members to understand the current and emerging risk profile).
    • Explore opportunities to integrate activities and data across the range of ORX products.
    • As required, lead the development of new ORX initiatives, products and services, developing business cases for review with the ORX Executive and Board.
    • As required, provide risk management SME across the research and information team.
    • From time-to-time, lead wider activities, including the development of industry standards.  
    • Effectively manage the Risk Management team and wider resources as required.
       
  • Business Planning and Strategy
    • Make a significant contribution to researching, planning, delivering and monitoring the ORX product and services strategy.
    • Make a contribution to researching, planning, delivering and monitoring the overall ORX business plan and strategy.
       
  • Leadership, Communication and Relationship Management
    • Manage the project work of research teams and internal participant groups.
    • Manage/oversee the work and relations of ORX member groups.
    • Build strong relationships with ORX participant members.
    • Communicate effectively with the ORX membership, to be effective in canvassing member opinion to drive the programme agenda.
    • Present research findings at ORX forums and other wider industry meetings.
    • Promoting ORX products and research with the membership and wider industry bodies, including regulators.
    • Act as an ORX Senior Relationship Manager for allocated members, effectively managing senior relationships as required.
